Catrina J Mims

Catrina J. Mims, has dedicated her life to healthcare—starting as a young girl when she assisted in caring for her cousin’s grandfather, who was non-ambulatory. She eagerly helped the visiting nurse during home visits, learning early on how to tube feed and change a bed with the resident still in it. These formative experiences shaped her lifelong passion for compassionate care.
In 2000, Catrina formally entered the healthcare field by enrolling in a Medical Assistant program. While working on a medical-surgical unit in a Detroit hospital, she found her calling in caring for geriatric patients. Over the years, her curiosity and dedication led her to roles across multiple specialty departments, including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Digestive Health. Her leadership potential quickly emerged, and she went on to manage a busy Digestive Health practice for several years.
Despite her professional success, Catrina felt a deeper purpose calling—one rooted in a more holistic approach to healing. She pursued education in natural medicine and today practices as a "Family Herbalist". In 2020, she published her first book, 'Know Better, Do Better: The Challenge of Choices"—a practical guide offering healthier alternatives for everyday living.
Catrina holds a degree in Healthcare Administration and is a "Licensed Nursing Home Administrator". Her unique blend of clinical expertise and holistic wisdom inspired her to launch CJM Home Care Solutions—a person-centered agency dedicated to helping individuals live with dignity, vitality, and purpose.
For Catrina, healthcare isn’t just a profession—it’s a calling.
Her greatest reward is seeing others thrive through compassionate, informed, and integrative care.

CJM Home Care Solutions was born from love, loss, and a promise to do better. My life changed when my mother was diagnosed with dementia and placed in a traditional care facility. Like so many families, I believed she would be safe and supported. But what I witnessed broke my heart. She was overmedicated, overlooked, and slowly fading—not just physically, but in spirit. Every visit made it clearer: this wasn’t care. It was management. And it wasn’t enough.
So I brought her home.
With the guidance of a trusted physician, we gently reduced her medications and focused on true healing—through nourishing meals, movement, calm routines, and holistic support. Slowly, I saw glimpses of her light return. That experience opened my eyes to the real gaps in our care system—and the overwhelming burden so many families carry when trying to navigate it alone.
"That’s my “why.” It’s the reason I founded 'CJM Home Care Solutions'—to offer families a better way forward. Our assisted living home support goes beyond just daily tasks. Yes, we assist with bathing, meals, medications, and mobility—but what makes us different is our heart. We care deeply. We take time to listen, to engage, to comfort. We use a holistic approach that supports the *whole* person—body, mind, and spirit.
I’ve built a team of dedicated professionals who believe in treating every client as we would our own family. Because that’s what this is—family. When you invite us into your home, we show up with compassion, skill, and a genuine commitment to your loved one’s well-being.
